This isn't news, either, I just want to share this with you so you can all feel my pain. There's been a digital version of the roll-and-write On Tour Board Game since December but I only became aware of it in early February and...well, I hate it. Hate. Hate. Hate.

The game is ported fantastically and, if you're a fan of the game, it will be a perfect addition to your mobile device. Then again, if you're a fan of this game you are probably a masochistic savant who won't be around long anyway. You see, that's the problem. This brilliant little game is hard. So hard. Freaking mind-breaking-yell at your children for no reason-throw your phone into a brick wall-write angry blog post kind of hard. It's hard is my point. After about a hundred games, I'm pretty sure my top score is 1 which I don't think is even possible and yet the game hates me that much.

Is there strategy? Probably! Have I even come close to figuring out how to use it and get better scores? Have you read the previous paragraph?

The first one there is pretty easy to understand...jobs suck and their only apparent purpose is to prevent us from playing and writing about games. Everyone knows this.

The second has been a big factor, too, however. When you stop writing daily news posts and your presence on social media slows, it's amazing how much less excited game publishers are to contact you. I don't blame them; spend your time where you'll get the most bang for your buck. That said, having to do research and whatnot rather than getting emails and DMs sent my way from pubs has made the job harder and with less time to actually write, it's had a snowball effect.

The last issue is really the big one. I'm not sure what the trigger has been, but I've lost my passion for board games. Oh, I still play them all the time, but my focus has shifted to 18xx and heavy economic games and I realize that I couldn't care less about the 12 generic euros getting pooping out weekly or whatever shlock is the current hotness on Kickstarter. I've started purging my collection and hope to be nearly euro free (except Martin Wallace, Vital Lacerda, and Splotter...I'll never leave you guys, I promise) by summer.

In the past, games like Mystic Vale coming to mobile would have made me jump out of my chair (and then sit right back down in my chair because I can't write when I'm standing up) and start a new blog post here about the exciting news. Now, I shrug, make a note and tell myself I'll get to it...sometime.

You've probably noticed this already...I mean, there has to be some reason I went from posting 1x (sometimes 2x) a day to once every month or two. You probably guessed the reasons, so none of this is even news to you.

Anyway, I'm sorry that I just can't keep doing it like I used to. It's just not going to keep happening. I'm not going to kill the blog and I don't think it costs you anything to subscribe, but will I post again? I don't know. Maybe? Maybe not?

Web 2.0 Teaching Tools

This must be done 72 hours in advanced of the day you are requesting. The system won't allow you to schedule less 72 hours of their planned visit. You will use your Tiger username and password to login. I've attached a request form to explain how the form is filled out.

Once your request has been submitted and I have approved, you will receive an email with request being approved. Prior to your visit you will need to complete the Everbridge app on your phone. You will then be ready for your campus visit. On the day you are to be on campus, you will first report(wearing a mask) to the Administration building, ground floor, where security will check your Everbridge app and temperature. You can then proceed to C-106. Once there, I will explain the rules and guidelines for using the lab and escort you to the lab. We will maintain social distancing and computers are designated for use. Hand sanitizer and electronic wipes will be on hand. The hallways are marked for traffic direction and no water fountains will be available in the building. You won't be able to eat or drink in the lab. The vending machines are empty so students should bring snacks, food, and/or water with them. You will be permitted to consume those outside the building. The bathrooms will be available and marked for use. Mask will be mandatory to enter any building and to go onto school grounds. We won't be supplying any mask so students should bring an extra one.

The Knight family, which also owns a Knight’s Steakhouse location in Jackson, signed a lease this week for 3, 500 square feet of the former Borders flagship store. The restaurant will anchor the corner of East Liberty and Maynard streets.

“We’ve been looking for the right location for about five years, ” said Don Knight, who runs the restaurant on Dexter Avenue. “When we saw this spot become available, we thought it could be really cool.”

The move comes 61 years after Ray Knight opened Knight’s Market at 420 Miller Ave., and nearly 30 years after he purchased Annie’s Dugout at 2324 Dexter Ave., opening the now-iconic Knight’s Steakhouse. Ray’s five children run the family businesses after Ray died in February.

Despite the economic downturn and construction that closed Dexter Avenue for months, the strong business at Knight’s fueled the decision to open a second restaurant in Ann Arbor.

“We’re excited about it, ” said Jeff Knight, who oversees the business side of things. “It’s a little different for us, and it’s a big financial commitment for the family, but we're comfortable with it.” Although there will be some differences at the downtown restaurant, the Knights said the important qualities — good food, strong drinks and a sense of community — will stay the same.

“It’s going to be comfortable and casual, ” said Jeff. “It’s not going to be like you’re walking into a new world, you’re going to be walking into a Knight’s.”

Knight’s is the first announced tenant for the first floor of the former Borders building, which is being redeveloped by Ron Hughes of Hughes Properties and is listed for lease with Colliers International. Hughes is subdividing the vacant space into five restaurant and retail spaces on the first floor, with office space on the second floor.

In January, technology company PRIME Research North America signed a lease for 16, 000 square feet of office space on the building’s second floor. Colliers International’s Jim Chaconas said negotiations are underway with several other tenants for space in the building.

Added Hughes: “This is such a high-profile building. It’s great to have a generational family come in and take this cornerstone location in the building.”

Hughes said the building is undergoing renovations, with plans to turn space over to tenants in early fall. If all goes as planned, Knight’s could open in January.

The new restaurant will likely feature the iconic black chess piece sign, although it will also include lettering. It will have Knight’s in the name, but won’t necessarily be called Knight’s Steakhouse. It will have the same community-focused atmosphere, but will be updated to target the downtown clientele.

“We’re not going to go far away from our concept, but I think we recognize the market (downtown) is slightly different, ” Jeff said.

“I think the people who go to the Dexter Avenue restaurant go there for certain reasons, and hopefully, we won’t be stealing from our own customers. I don’t think it’s going to hurt our business on Dexter Avenue, ” he continued.

The restaurant will have about 150 indoor seats, with an outdoor patio that wraps around Maynard and Liberty. The family plans to hire about 40 or 50 employees to staff the new restaurant. The prices, Jeff said, will be competitive with other restaurants in town.

What would popular music be without the five cheeky youngsters who first conquered the Latino market upon formation in 1977 in Puerto Rico? They were put together by a producer named Edgardo Diaz, a blueprint that would pay off big in the English-language market nearly 20 years later with the Orlando formation of the Backstreet Boys and 'NSync by the late Lou Pearlman.

Latin America and North America — Menudo plotted world domination and began recording in English with the 1984 album, "Reaching Out, " when Menudo's first breakout star, future Latin Songwriter Hall of Fame inductee Robi Draco Rosa, was in the quintet — haven't had a Menudo since 2009.

It has been even longer since any form of Menudo released a full studio album — its 36th release, "Tiempo de amar, " came out in 1996. The pop cultural machinery back then decided punk was the cool antidote for the dinosaur pop/rock acts roaming the concert stages and dominating radio at the time like Led Zeppelin, Elton John and the Eagles. So if a safety pin through the nose and monarchy-bashing tunes played by non-musicians was the hip thing, there'd be nothing quite so controversial for the Menudo boys.
